RizzAlarm ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
RizzAlarm is designed to work entirely on your device. We collect only what is necessary to provide the alarm and challenge features:
- Alarm Data: Your alarm settings including times, labels, challenge types, and sound preferences. Stored locally on your device only — never transmitted to any server.
- App Preferences: Settings such as default snooze duration, sound selection, and Pro subscription status. Stored locally using standard iOS storage (UserDefaults).
Device Permissions We Request
Some features require device permissions. Here is exactly what each permission is used for:
- Notifications (Required): Used to fire your alarms at the scheduled time, even when the app is in the background or your phone is locked. Without this permission, alarms cannot function.
- Camera (Optional — Pro feature): Used only when you choose the Barcode Scanner challenge (scan a barcode to dismiss) or the Photo challenge (take a photo to prove you are awake). Camera access is never used for any other purpose. No photos or images are stored or transmitted.
- Motion & Fitness (Optional — Pro feature): Used only when you choose the Shake challenge (detects phone shaking) or the Step Counter challenge (counts your steps). Motion data is processed on-device in real time and is never stored or transmitted.
What We Do NOT Collect
- Personal identification information (name, address, email, phone number)
- Location data or GPS coordinates
- Contacts or address book information
- Photos — any image captured for the Photo challenge is used instantly on-device and immediately discarded
- Microphone audio
- Browsing history or data from other apps
- Usage analytics or behavioural tracking data
Data Storage
All alarm data, preferences, and settings are stored exclusively on your device. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or process your personal data. Uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored data.
In-App Purchases
RizzAlarm offers a Pro subscription at $3.99/month. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, see, or have access to any payment information.
Third-Party Services
RizzAlarm uses only Apple-provided system frameworks:
- Apple StoreKit: For processing in-app purchases and subscriptions
- Apple UserNotifications: For scheduling and delivering alarm notifications
- Apple AVFoundation: For playing alarm sounds
- Apple CoreMotion: For the shake and step counter challenges (on-device only)
- Apple AVCaptureSession: For the barcode scanner challenge (on-device only)
No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are included in RizzAlarm. We do not share any data with third parties.
Children's Privacy
RizzAlarm is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all data stored on your device through the app
- Delete all your data by uninstalling the app
- Revoke any permission (camera, motion) at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security
- Contact us with any questions about your data

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date above.
